The Great Canadian Mail Race

The Great Canadian Mail Race is a project in which students “race” to get letters across the country to as many different provinces and territories as possible before the end of the school year. This ongoing activity reinforces letter writing skills, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure, as well as map skills in a fun and interesting way!

The Grade three class was lucky enough to receive a letter from Migizi Wazisin Elementary School in Long Lac, Ontario. Our class then returned a letter to them. Each student then wrote a letter to a randomly selected school anywhere in Canada.

So far, two of our Heschel students have received letters in return!

What excitement!

We hope that all 23 students receive letters in return and gain a possible pen pal!

Hannah was so excited to get her letter yesterday. She will definitely be writing back soon!
And here I thought snail mail letter writing had gone by the wayside…
